As my mother pointed out on her blog, watching the Oscars was a beautiful tradition we had before I moved to San Francisco. We'd stay up for 2 hours watching the Red Carpet, (in Istanbul, with the time difference, the show starts at 1 in the morning) and then she'd go to bed, while I'd stay up till the morning and watch the show, taking notes on a piece of paper that I'd eventually put on my mother's table before going off to school. Good old times... Now we do it over skype and BBM. So here is to you mom, here are my favorites. (We already had an argument over Cate Blanchett's Givenchy which I absolutely loved, and she absolutely didn't.)

Annemin de kendi blogunda bahsettigi gibi, ben San Francisco'ya tasinmadan Oscarlar'i hep birlikte izlerdik. Saat farkiyla Istanbul'da sabaha karsi 1'de baslayan Red Carpet'i izledikten sonra annem yatardi, ben de sabaha kadar izleyip, okula gitmeden kazananlarin notlarini alip annemin masasina birakirdim sabah kalktiginda hemen gorsun diye. Malesef onu artik skype ve BBM'den yapiyoruz artik. O yuzden bu senin icin annecim, iste benim en beyendiklerim. (Simdiden Cate Blanchett'in Givenchy'siyle ilgili tartistik; ben bayildim, o da hic bayilmadi :) )
