Last year around this time I was very homesick. With my niece's birthday coming up, it reminded me of how I wouldn't be there for a lot of important moments in my family members' lives. I missed my niece's birth, and since it was the day before my birthday, on my birthday, I was miserable.

This year I feel a little different. I have a few important people around me that I can call my Frisco family. Obviously that doesn't change the fact that I won't be able to see my beautiful niece turn 1, but there is always the miracle of Skype, so I can sort of "attend" her birthday and watch her blow out the candles on her cake.

And my birthday...? Since I can't have my family and friends with me, all I want to do is celebrate it with him.

The word "gorgeous" applies to different things for different people, although I'm pretty sure this is one of those situations where everyone can agree...

I haven't been happy in a long time in Frisco I feel like... It was a good idea to hang back and stay here for the Spring Break. He keeps telling me that once Spring arrives, Frisco will be better, and he is right indeed. There is something calming about sunny Frisco.

We walked everywhere this weekend; Haight Street, North Point, Russian Hill... To Haight, I went with my good friend, Caro, who takes most of my pictures!

We went there to sell our clothes. I got rid of all the pants that are too big for me now, it's a good feeling =) I was wearing my new skirt I got in NYC with a long sleeved shirt to make it casual.

Then these boys took me, well, they didn't really take me, but in order to walk back from North Point, we took Jones street back and saw beautiful views of San Francisco.

Now, back to reality...

It looks more like a museum than a house, but I guess the since man is successful enough, he might as well have his own museum before his death...

Growing up is hard to do. Too many outside distractions, too many goals, to many interactions, and no one ever tells you the right from wrong. When they do, it's not always for the best.

I was looking at my old pictures and came across this one from my graduation.

I was so easily influenced back then. Even from the picture, you can tell I was influenced by the "Carrie pose" from Sex and The City. Although I have always been my own person, I was still open to people changing me.

I'm different now. If I have learned one thing over last summer, that's the fact that you can't change people; therefore people can't change you. What I am right now is what I'll always be. I might evolve into something better - hopefully - but my core is stable now.

Mother, one last time, for the both of us...

New York is crying; not for me, because if it had just been me leaving, it would have been sunny, I know. But it always "cries after" my mom's departure.

We had breakfast at E.A.T. uptown. We decided to walk back, considering it was only 20 something blocks. We definitely made the right choice, even though it was pouring.

I rarely gasp, one of my closest friends, NS does it a lot, and for the first time, I gasped because of this dress I saw outside of Chloé's window.

More than gasping, to my mother's disblief, I got teary eyed. I don't know what it is about this dress that makes me want to cry, in a good way. It's so elegant and beautiful. To my luck, my mom needed a dress for a wedding they're doing back home (my mom and her business partner are event planners, and they make the most beautiful weddings. )

Then, it was time for goodbyes =( Even though I had a 6 hour ahead of me, I wanted to wear my new Hervé Léger boots, which are my 21st birthday presents. They are the tallest heels I ever owned, and they are extremely hard to walk in, but I love them.

Another beautiful day in NYC. I hate how stores open late on sundays; when everyone has as much time as they can have on their hands to shop...

Like I said we would, we went to Bleecker Street. The houses there blow me away, if I ever had the chance to live here, it would be on Bleecker Street, in one of those brick apartments. I would have all the best boutiques around me and.... Magnolia Bakery!

People who aren't from New York probably know about this place through Sex And The City, it's where Carrie and Miranda used to have the best cupcakes you've ever seen. And it's true. ALthough I didn't have one this time, they really do have the best cupcakes.

We then went to Cipriani, again. THis time, we were a little more healthy - that is, minus the Bellinis and the grissinis...

I didn't do a lot of shopping, I actually didn't shop at all, although my mom and I fell in love with this dress, but couldn't find my size. Oh well, if it wasn't meant to be, it wasn't meant to be...

At night, since it was our last night, we went to Amaranth, and had great food.

I hate leaving New York =(

I watched Anna Wintour's documentary, "The September Issue" a couple of days ago and saw how much goes into these photo shoots, and how much you actually see on the fine print of the magazine, this one must have been one of the high budgeted ones, it's pretty good...
