I strongly dislike (hate is a profound word, I learned) being put in a box, hence putting people in boxes. However if this is not the most accurate "typical" definition of an area effecting its residents, I don't know what is.

FashioningFashion
Les Arts Decoratifs of Paris will hold the fashion exhibition "Fashioning Fashion" on how two centuries of European fashion has developed, with an exceptional collection of pieces which have never been shown in France. The exhibition will be from December 13th, until April 14th.

Marche Aux Puces de St-Ouen - the mother of flea markets where you're guaranteed to find anything vintage, deserves at least 3/4's of a day. Go early, and bring cash. 140 Rue des Rosiers, Saint-Ouen
Christophe Lemaire - the previous creative director of Lacoste, Lemaire's boutique has everything from 70's glam to Japanese high textiles. (It also looks like my fantasy living room.) 28 Rue de Poitou, Marais
Didier Ludot - vintage haute couture heaven with un-heavenly steep prices. But the "little black dress" collection from Balenciaga to Chanel is to die for. 20-24 Galerie de Montpensier, Opera.
Setsuko - although "Free 'P' Star" is the more known vintage shop in the Marais area, Setsuko has a divine choice of vintage faux fur with prices that will put a smile on your face. Go to the back room and dig in! 17 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie, Marais
Le Village St-Paul - this market houses a colony of antique sellers for retro furniture you will make sure to find a way to ship home to. (Open daily from 10 am to 7 pm except Sundays.) Rue St-Paul, Marais.
Gabrielle Geppert - with a sunglass collection that will impress any accessory lover, this shop is a must. 31 & 34 Galerie Montpensier, Opera

Picking restaurants in Paris is no different than picking museums; there are too many to choose from. However, in my short time here, I've come across a few I can call my favorites so far, and thought I'd share.
Hotel Costes - well, whichever restaurant you go to that belong to the Costes Group (L'Avenue, Societe, Le George to name a few), you're going to get the same delicious food, and the same crowd that frequently include Kanye and Jay-Z. Just a side note, it's close to impossible to make a reservation - make sure you're flirty!

Kinugawa - Last time when the Luxury Shoppers duo were in town, we went here and spotted Karl Lagerfeld, Emma Stone, and Dianna Agron to name a few. Great food, great ambiance, even better clientele

Kong - this place is a favorite for a late dinner and a night out afterwords. You get a beautiful view of Paris, and scrumptious food to go along with it.

Kooka Boora Cafe - Pigalle might be my favorite area here in Paris, and this cafe is the perfect spot for a relaxing sunday and people watching. Make sure you drink fresh squeezed juice and the best coffee in Paris. Also, a really close friend works there, so if you do go, ask for Lina ;)

Merci
Alright. I know Colette is the Holy Grail of concept stores, and everyone who sets foot in Paris visits it like it's the second most important museum after the Louvre. (and in a sense, it is) However, I would also like to inform you all of another concept store, called Merci. With a price range a little more approachable, a trendy restaurant, and a whole lot of merchandise for both your wardrobe, your significant others' wardrobe, as well as your house, Merci is a must visit. Think of it as the Holy Grail's sister.

ATrueParisienne...
A true Parisienne... would not be seen on the Champs Elysées - unless desperate times call for desperate measures. However, even if they have to walk somewhere on the Champs Elysées, they'll take the street parallel to it.
A true Parisienne... wouldn't be caught dead wearing sneakers outside of the gym. And if they're about to die, it wouldn't surprise me to hear them ask for another pair of shoes. They bring stilettos to wear on the way home.
A true Parisienne... doesn't check anyone out on the street. It doesn't matter if you're carrying the hula hoop Chanel purse right off the '13 runway.
A true Parisienne... is not bothered by smoke. Even if they don't smoke. (And it's highly unlikely for them not to smoke.)
A true Parisienne... wouldn't be shopping at Ladurée for desert.
A true Parisienne... wouldn't be seen out before 12:00pm on a Sunday. You think they spend Saturday nights in their apartments with a book and go to bed at 10pm?
A true Parisienne... would most likely not stop to help you out with directions. Warning: if they do, they're sending you to the opposite direction just for kicks. My teacher Thierry says you need to verify with at least three people before going in the direction you're told.
A true Parisienne... rarely takes a cab. They're either riding the metro, or they have drivers who do the driving for them.
A true Parisienne... wears designer clothing as if it's H&M.
A true Parisienne... wouldn't visit the museums on the weekends. I've told you that their motto is to avoid tourists at all costs.

I can already hear some of your comments, (including my mom) talking about how I'm not wearing any socks, and you're right. When my friends told me that it felt like summer in New York, I got so excited and only packed five dresses, and one pair of pants. Unfortunately, with my arrival, the warm weather disappeared. So the first thing I did when I arrived was to go and buy some sweaters. When I left the hotel Friday morning, it took me about 12 seconds to realize that I couldn't go out wearing a dress. As for this picture, I only took my scarf and jacket off for two minutes...

Arkadaslarim New York'un cok sicak oldugunu soyleyince ben de yanimda tam olarak bes tane elbise, bir tane de pantalon aldim. Malesef benim New York'a gelisimle sicak havanin gitmesi bir oldu. O yuzden gittigim an kazak alis verisine ciktim. Bu resim icin de ceketimi ve salimi cikarttim, yoksa vallahi daha kalindi uzerim :)
