LeavingSanFrancisco

It was four years ago when I came to San Francisco, just as I am leaving it right now, under a tight set of clouds. The city was a mystery to me. I was unaware of my now favorite restaurants, hadn't met my now favorite people, and hadn't lived in a small little apartment I've been calling home for the past three something years.
It's no lie when any graduate tells you college is the best four years they have spent, and I am no exception. Weather it's declaring your independence from your parents, or beginning to take charge of your life, those four years shape you to become the person you will most likely be for the rest of your life. And what other beautiful city to do that in other than San Francisco?
Getting that bitter cold wind on your face as you walk to class, bombarded with "Hello"s and " Good Morning"s with the unavoidable "Thank You"s, you have no time to question your luck, having the chance to live in The Bay Area, or as "we" call it, Frisco.
When you live in that harmony, time is no joke. Four years pass by in the blink of an eye, and before you know it, you're at the airport, saying goodbye to your family that you've luckily made. The tears make it seem like you've had the worst time, but you know it's been your best.
With the comfort of my apartment and the warmth of my loved one in my heart, the unquestionable breathtaking skyline in front of my eyes, the delicious gourmet taste left in my mouth, and the best of friends I've made in my memories, it's time for me to start a new chapter.
Goodbye San Francisco, goodbye my lovely home. I'll be back before you know it, because I know my family is going to be waiting for me.

  1. As i always say, you have to consider writing a novel because u have a wonderful literature style:) It's always hard to say "goodbyes" bt how can we start saying "hi" without those? Have a safe trip back home miss Kap:)

  3. seçtiğin kelimelere, vurgularına, kısacası edebi diline hayranım ve o yüzden sen böyle uzun bi yazı yazdıysan okumadan geçemiyorum (diğer birçok blogun aksine!) yazının içeriğine zaten diyecek bişeyim yok.. insanın ailem diyebileceği kadar yakın dostları olması çok güzel, arada binlerce km olsa bile bağlantıyı koparmayacağınıza eminim :)
    sevgiler, ahsen
